Hi, I'm David, a Sydney based multidisciplinary user experience designer who thrives on new experiences and ideas.
With a background in HR / L&OD, I have skills and experience across the end-to-end design process and strengths in: user research and data-analysis; collaboratively scoping business and user requirements; creating user empathy and actionable insights regarding the problem space; strategic solution development around a clear value proposition and user experience vision; and carrying out rapid prototyping, usability testing and iteration.
User-centred research and design has always been part of my work.
ME
Over a 10 year career as an HR / L&OD practitioner I learned that people are driven by multiple social, emotional and functional needs in any given moment and that understanding how these needs change depending on a person's context is key to designing effective, meaningful and emotionally engaging products, services and digital content.
I learned that to successfully engage with an audience, what you make needs to be easy to access, understand and use, be light-touch, talk their language, give them what they need only when they need it, surprise them in positive ways and help them achieve their goals.
Whether at work or in my personal life, I love learning new things, sharing ideas and have a diverse set of interests. New experiences aren't just what make life exciting, they broaden our perspective, enable us to look at situations from many different angles and fuel creativity.
I am forward thinking and seek out the latest innovations, patterns and approaches to use in my designs to delight users and add value.

I have been incredibly impressed by Davids UX design work. We have worked together on a repurposed, circular design platform called Revive. David interviewed approximately 20 potential users in 4 different groups, designer further online surveys for 3 different user groups and synthesized the data in an easy to read report.
